Because of the potential negative impacts of mining, it is completely forbidden in all protected areas in Sierra Leone. To show our commitment, we (#EPASL) have stopped JM Mining's activities in the Kambui Hills Forest Reserve in the Eastern Province. The next few months will see more of such actions and the launch of a #NationalEnvironmentalEnforcementCoordinationMechanism that will encourage good practice to protect the environment through strict enforcement of the law.

Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah visits his people in Jimmi Bagbo and makes Zakaat to the Muslim Jamaat and the wider community 31st March 2024 Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Abdulai Bah has visited his people in Jimmi Bagbo. During his visit, he met and spent time with various community leaders, inspected ongoing and potential projects, and distributed rice and assorted items to his people, especially the Muslim Jamaat. He also joined the Chiefdom Imam and the other elders for prayers and Iftar at the Central Mosque in Bagbo Chiefdom, Bo District. Minister Chernor Bah (Cee Bah) made his first stop at the residence of his uncle, the Paramount Chief of Bagbo Chiefdom, PC Sesay Koker, to pay respects and express personal condolences on the recent passing of the late Madam Mariama Ofine Koker, wife of the chief.
