Liverpool vs Newcastle United
Liverpool have the chance to strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League with a victory over Newcastle at Anfield on New Year's day.
The Reds welcome Eddie Howe's side top of the table on 42 points, level with Aston Villa but ahead of goal difference and with a game in hand. Newcastle, meanwhile, sit ninth on 29 points after losing four out of their last five Premier League matches.
Liverpool will be able to field Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo for the final time before the pair depart for the African Cup of Nations and Asia Cup respectively, while Alexis Mac Allister is believed to be available again following his recovery from a knee injury sustained against Fulham in early December.
Left-back Andy Robertson is now yet fit to begin training and with Kostas Tsimikas also out, Liverpool will likely turn to Joe Gomez again.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have a number of injuries including goalkeeper Nick Pope, defender Jamaal Lascelles, Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes and more. Sandro Tonali is suspended.
We'll have live score updates from Anfield, as well as latest team news, analysis and much more.

Latest Liverpool injury news
Alexis Mac Allister could return tonight following a six-match absence because of a badly cut knee.
However, the Reds remain without Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic.
Speaking on Friday, Klopp said: “Robbo still needs more range in his shoulder. Obviously it was a big surgery. [He is] still not even close to team training or whatever.
“[He] can do a lot, everything without using the arm properly, which is obviously good but on the other side shows us we still have a long way to go. For sure, I think, the full January he has to get closer and closer.”
Asked for updates on Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, Klopp replied: “I think Thiago will be at one point in team training [in January].
“With Stefan, if you ask Stefan how he feels, he says ‘good’. ‘Could you train?’ Yes, he could. It’s just we have to be sensible. That’s how it is.
“Thiago is in a very good moment as well but we just have to make sure we don’t use him then too early. The hip thing in and around that area is just a long-term thing as well.
“There were for sure days where he could have easily trained but it’s all about how can he be back then in the long term, and that’s what we are working on.”
