Real Madrid 4-1 Barcelona (Vinícius Júnior x3 & Rodrygo Goes). An impressive final win. Here is the reaction to the match. Join the celebrations with: Player ratings, post game quotes and a champion’s post game podcast.
Finals are light work for Real Madrid, but a showdown with Barcelona was always going to be tasty, even if it was taking place half way across the world in competition that should have been settled months prior. The semi-final game against Atlético Madrid offered pure entertainment, so fans would be hoping for a similar spectacle. Starting Vinícius Júnior in attack alongside Rodrygo Goes would certainly fuel those hopes. The biggest story came in goal, as Andriy Lunin, the best goalkeeper currently match fit at the club started ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga. A big statement, but the right decision. Luka Modrić was on the bench joined by Eduardo Camavinga and the in-form Brahim Díaz. Nacho Fernández captained Real Madrid for the final.

It turned out to be all action within the first ten minutes, and all Real Madrid. Rodrygo Goes could have given Los Blancos the lead within two, but shot just wide. An early lead was taken when Jude Bellingham found Vinícius Júnior on the spin who left Barcelona in the dust to score. Three minutes later, the Brazilian doubled his tally. Vinícius was handed the ball on a plate after Rodrygo found himself in acres of space running forward. Barcelona woke up a tad after the shock start, and hit the bar through Ferran Torres. Torres would also have the next three chances, but some bad finishing coupled with the fact that Andriy Lunin was really stepping up and ending the goalkeeper debate meant that it remained 2-0. The Catalans would pull a goal back, and a good one at that after Robert Lewandowski showed his class to hammer home a volley from the edge of the box. Things could have gotten awkward from here, but not for Real Madrid in finals. Vinícius Júnior was fouled in the area, meaning that he had the chance to bag a hat-trick, against his team’s biggest rivals in a final from the spot. He really didn’t want to miss that chance, as he fired home to hand his side a two goal cushion once more. Half time, and a comfortable 3-1 score line.
This is what I want from Real Madrid in Clasicos. Play through the press and exploit the highline. You just can't give Jude Bellingham (who is him, btw), Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo that much space. It's beautiful.

The second half started off with the slowest pace we’ve seen during this competition, and it was still pretty intense. No real chances were created until Rodrygo sparked things back in to life with a quick finish inside the box to make it four. The game started to get a bit scrappy with the little kicks and chops - and it resulted in things getting worse for Barcelona when Ronald Araújo received a second yellow earning himself an early shower. Brahim Díaz came on and immediately started causing chaos, dribbling his way into the box before forcing a save from the keeper. Bellingham couldn’t finish the rebound before the ball was cleared. The rest of the game played out like a training session for Madrid, who lifted their thirteenth SuperCup effortlessly, after a 4-1 drubbing of Barcelona. On a scale of 1/10, how did you rate this performance?
