Sierra Leone takes its seat on the United Nations Security Council

As an acknowledgement of the Government of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s steadfast dedication to global peace and security, Sierra Leone’s flag again flutters in the Chamber of the UN Security Council (UNSC). As of January 1st 2024, our great nation took her seat as an Elected Non-Permanent Member of the UNSC for the second time in our nation's storied history. This is a strong recognition of Sierra Leone’s remarkable progress, particularly under the leadership of President Bio and a shining symbol for nations overcoming adversity. The Government and great people of Sierra Leone pledge to work towards an effective tenure and we reaffirm our commitment to Africa's Common Agenda for UNSC reform. Long Live The Republic of Sierra Leone! 🗓️ Join the UNSC Flag Installation Ceremony of the newly-elected members of the United Nations Security Council live today at 12:00 Noon New York time zone via UN WebTV: webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1d/k… #PresidencySL🇸🇱
