The Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr visit cemeteries in freetown
#Cemeteries are our final resting place so it is important that they are properly cared for and honored. We are determined to overcome the challenges experienced in my first term and to ensure that Freetown’s 14 public cemeteries are now constantly maintained and effectively managed. A phased rehabilitation of our cemeteries is being coordinated by #DeputyMayor #KwekuLiskEsq working closely with the Chief Administrator, relevant FCC Council Committees and Departments and the cemetery clerks.
Yesterday, #NewYear’s Day, Deputy Mayor, Cllrs Zainab Conteh and Samuel Kamara visited #CongoTown, #CircularRoad, #KissyRoad and #RaceCourse cemeteries to see the work done so far. We have only #just #started and we look forward to delivering significant improvements to our cemeteries in the #coming #months!
Thanks to Christian Dauda for the support he rendered to the Ascension Town Cemetary rehabilitation whilst I was out of office.
