February 7th 2024 Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio today fulfilled a promise made to the Tuba community by presenting a 200 Million Leones cheque to support the newly constructed vocational skills training centre at Tuba. This marks a significant step towards supporting the community through enhanced skills development for young people. The promise originated on January 25th 2024 when the First Lady visited Tuba to commission the aforementioned centre and pledged the stated sum as her financial contribution. It was in following through on her promise that community representatives, including Hon. Madam Beatrice Kangbai, the elected Member of Parliament for Tuba and its environs, were welcomed by the First Lady to her Goderich office on February 7th 2024 for the official presentation of the pledged sums of monies. Demonstrating her support for Education and Training, the First Lady divided the funds into two equal parts: 100 Million Leones allocated to support the centre's tutors and staff whilst the remaining 100 Million is dedicated to procuring essential equipment, learning materials and training facilities. The Tuba community members present expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for her support and action, recognising her as a woman of her word who makes promises through talking and then actually does what she had talked about. ("tok n do").
