The newly appointed world Bank director visit president Bio

This morning, I received the newly appointed World Bank Country Director for Sierra Leone, Ghana and Liberia, Mr Robert Taliercio O'Brien, at the State Lodge in Freetown. We discussed my Government’s efforts towards improving the macroeconomic fundamentals of the country and our concerted efforts towards alleviating poverty, in line with United Nations SDG Goal 1, which seeks to eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere by 2030. I also sought the World Bank’s continued support for my Government’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (2024-2030) with a particular focus on our Big 5 Strategic Priorities to spur sustainable socio-economic transformation. The World Bank has been a valued strategic partner, working alongside other Development Partners in Sierra Leone to support the country’s fight against poverty, promote economic development, and improve the living standards of our citizens. I am confident that Mr Robert Taliercio O'Brien will bring his wealth of knowledge and experience towards advancing our shared sustainable development vision and objectives.
